PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS
The PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD is conferred on “OUTSTANDING ACHIEVERS” in business, sports, entertainment, education, public services and other major professional fields, as well as to "Top Consumer Products, Manufacturers and Companies" for over two decades since 1983.
The event is highlighted and enlivened by the conferment of the TOP ENTERTAINER AWARD (TEA) to outstanding individuals in the fields of arts, theater and the performing arts / entertainment
The project is organized by the NATIONAL CONSUMER AFFAIRS FOUNDATION (NCAF) jointly with the TOP ENTERTAINERS AWARDS (TEA) COMMITTEE.
MISSION & VISION
To motivate individuals to excel in their chosen fields of endeavor thru public recognition, and eventually serve as emulation to the rest of their countrymen.
To motivate consumer products and companies to maintain their product / corporate quality thus serving the best interest of the consumers and the general public.
Outstanding Individual Achievers are honored based on their significant accomplishments in business, public service, arts & entertainment, education, sports and other major professional fields. The awardees or honorees are classified into:
I. SECTORAL AWARDS
A. GOLDEN SCROLL AWARD (GSA) for achievers above 50 years old
B. HUWARANG PILIPINO AWARD (HPA) or MODEL ACHIEVER AWARD (MAA)
for achievers between 41 and 49 years old;
C. YOUNG PROFESSIONAL AWARD (YPA) for achievers between 25 and 40 years old;
D. YOUNG ACHIEVER AWARD (YAA) for achievers between 7 and 23 years old.
II. SPECIAL CITATIONS AWARDS
A. TOP ENTERTAINER AWARD (TEA) for outstanding achievers in the field of
arts & entertainment. Categories include: Entertainer of the Year, Best Recording Artist,
Best Concert Artist, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best TV Host and other descriptive
titles connoting specific distinctions.
B. HUMANITARIAN SERVICE AWARD (HSA) for outstanding achievers in the field of
socio-civic and humanitarian service endeavor.
OUTSTANDING CONSUMERS PRODUCT & COMPANIES
OUTSTANDING CONSUMER PRODUCTS AND COMPANIES are adjudged based on the following criteria:
(1) Product Features or Quality - 35%
(2) Contribution to Public Service - 20%
(3) Public Opinion & Survey - 25%
(4) Pricing - 20%.
Open public nomination followed by random consumer survey and research are conducted by the Awards Committee. Opinion polls, including telephone polls and casual consumer inquiries in leading and select small product outlets (such as malls, groceries, convenience stores and drug stores) were further conducted to determine the awardees.
The awardees were chosen based on the following major criteria: Contribution to Public Service, Product or Service Quality, Actual Demonstration, Pricing and General Public Opinion based on Consumer Satisfaction.
Project proceeds benefit the Youth Scholarship Program and Livelihood Programs of the Who’s Who in the Philippines Foundation, the Ideal Parents & Family Foundation (IPFF) and the National Consumer Affairs Foundation.
Corporate and individual sponsorships and donations are also earmarked to finance the preparation and promotion of the event.
